EPILEPSY IN DALMATIANS

‘Epidal project’ in Finland.

At the ECDC/WAFDAL meeting in Zagreb, ‘Epilepsy in Dalmatians’ was one of the topics. Jonna Niemenperä, member of the Finnish Dalmatian Club, gave a presentation about the EPIDAL-Project, started by a study group in Finland. Read more on the website www.epidal.dalmatiner.org This webpage describes the Canine Genetic Research in Finland, and, as a part of it, the Genetic Research Study of Epilepsy in Dalmatian Dogs (EPIDAL).

Important members of the study group are Prof. Dr. Hannes Lohi (Professor of Veterinary Molecular Genetics and leader of the Canine Epilepsy Consortium in Europe) and Bettina Hutz (Research Assistant, Dept. of Discovery Biology) from Germany, now living in Finland.
